Action Statement – Progress Reports

 

Action Statement No. 26 - Create more residence-based learning communities

1. Current Status: An initial meeting with the Provost, the Associate Provost, the Housing Department, Student Affairs, the VP for University Affairs and the Physical Plant has occurred to map out possibilities of using current residence halls for creating new residential learning communities, as well as consideration of new construction (see Step 12).

 

2. Preliminary goals/plans for implementation: Still in progress

 

3. Suggested timetable for implementation: To be determined.

 

4. Performance indicators that may be used to monitor progress: Any changes in the current residential structure that would address new “communities” of learners.

 

5. “Benchmark” data available (if any): The current structure and requirements for the Academic Enrichment Hall and the Academic Excellence hall.

 

6. Factors impacting implementation (if any): Costs, facilities, student's willingness to adapt to new living environments and rules.

 

7. Suggestions for any new actions relating to this portion of the Strategic Plan (if any):
