SFA Panhellenic Council: Spring Recruitment
Attention SFA women! Want a great way to casually meet people and have fun? Beginning the first day of the spring semester, informal recruitment begins. Sororities will contact potential new members on their own and hold a series of informal events to get to know them better. Women who are full-time students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, have not been initiated into a National Panhellenic Conference sorority before, have not turned down a formal recruitment or COB bid are eligible to participate in spring recruitment. Edge of Life: Forest Pathology Art opening reception
6 p.m. | The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House
The SFA College of Fine Arts, School of Art and University Series will open Edge of Life: Forest Pathology Art with a 6 p.m. reception on Friday, Jan. 21, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, 329. E. Main St. in downtown Nacogdoches. The exhibition, which is a collaborative project between the SFA College of Fine Arts and the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture, features artists from the SFA School of Art and ecological artists from across the nation. The show will run through Friday, March 25. Regular gallery hours are 12:30 to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, please call (936) 468-1131. |

Over $15,000 in prize money will be awarded to the winners. The finals for the Junior Division will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, and for the Senior Division at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23. Both events will be held in Cole Concert Hall, 2210 Alumni Dr. on the SFA campus. Tickets for each event are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for students.
