The internationally acclaimed Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra will open the Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts’ 2010-2011 University Series at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the SFA campus. Under the direction of Daniel Spalding, the orchestra will present a provocative and poetic program that includes featured piano soloist Gabriela Imreh performing Bach’s Concerto in D minor. The event is sponsored by Lehmann Eye Center of Nacogdoches. |

This is for children of any age interested in cheerleading, or learning some of the aspects of cheerleading. Participants will work with the small coed cheerleading squad at SFA. Check-in will begin Saturday at 9:00 am, with a performance by participants at 4:00 p.m. The price per participant is $45, and includes instruction, lunch, and a clinic t-shirt. |

The Piney Woods Camerata, a conductor-less string ensemble led by the Stephen F. Austin State University string faculty, will present its fall concert 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus. The program will feature Boccherini’s Stabat Mater with vocal soloists, Dr. Jamie Weaver, alumna Monica Hamilton, and Dr. Bruce Fowler, and works by Handel and Corelli.Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, and $2 for students. |
