Daily employee e-newsletter debuts

sfa logoTo reduce the number of mass emails to faculty and staff, we request that beginning today you send your campus-wide messages and announcements to public affairs at the following address: sfatoday@sfasu.edu. Your messages and announcements will appear in the next edition of the daily e-newsletter. Besides reducing the number of mass e-mails from various departments, there are many other advantages offered by this daily service. All announcements will run for at least two days.

1. All events will run daily until day of event.
2. Increased visual reminders of departments’ announcements.
3. Announcements and messages will be proofread by public affairs staff.
4. Most importantly - news will be disseminated daily, as it happens!

"SFA Today" will be published Monday through Friday (except for holidays) and will be disseminated through e-mail. Items must be received by noon prior to the day of desired inclusion. To submit items to "SFA Today," use the online form or e-mail sfatoday@sfasu.edu. The announcement should apply to a significant number of faculty and/or staff members.

Instant Boss

Based on Merlin Mann's concept, this freeware application will help procrastinators, the easily distracted, people with a long list of very short tasks and people having trouble chipping away at very large tasks.

Instant Boss will time your work/break cycles, reminding you when to work and when to take a break. The defaults are 10 minutes of work, 2 minutes of break time and then repeat 5 times for a total of 1 hour. These values can be changed to suit your needs.
