SFA hosts physics convention that entertains spectators
Physics professors and teachers are always on the prowl for stuff that demonstrates how things work. Some of those ideas were demonstrated at a physics conference on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.
"You'll see in a moment why it's really interesting," said one teacher setting up his demonstration on mechanics.
It was part of the Texas Section of the American Physical Society, The Texas Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers and The Society of Physics Students conference. read more and view video |

- Mardi Gras trivia
According to the New Orleans Sanitation Department, before recycling programs began, more than 2,000 tons of debris from the last 12 days of parades was removed in the late 1980s.
The official colors of Mardi Gras: purple (justice), green (faith) and gold (power) were picked in 1872, but they weren't given their meanings until 1892.
