Students take RISQ with new magazine
Models wearing colorful high heels and custom outfits strutted down the hardwood floors in the Cole Art Center Wednesday night during a kickoff fashion show event for the new student-compiled RISQ Magazine.
The publication was started by Stephen F. Austin State University student Jordan Lee, who had the idea to bridge art and fashion, explained LaMonica Taylor, the event's hostess.
"Jordan had a love for art as well as fashion, but there is no magazine in the state of Texas which bridges both together," she said. "She gathered a lot of friends, and they brainstormed and said let's see if we can network with a lot of people and get this started, and they came up with RISQ in taking a risk."More

In 2002, during the popularity of Myspace.com, the unofficial/official Frosty the Snowman Myspace page was created. What started out as a simple Myspace hobby has turned into a place where children of all ages from all over the world can write to their favorite snowman and even receive its blessing from a few of the Rankin-Bass artists. To date, Frosty has over 4,000 friends. The site is www.myspace.com/therealfrostythesnowman.
