Dr. Rashdan will speak about the fundamental principles
of Islam and discuss the distortions and misconceptions
of these principles that have occurred, particularly in
light of current events. He will also discuss the similarities
and differences between humanism and Islam, and the underlying
similarites among all major religions. |
| Speaker biography: |
Dr. Rashdan is visiting the University
under the auspices of the University of Beirut in Lebanon,
and a grant from the Council for the International Exchange
of Scholars (CIES). He has lived and taught in many countries,
holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, and now
teaches and lives in Jordan. |
