SFA Chamber Orchestra to present concert
"An evening
of beautiful music" is how Jeff Jacobsen, director of the
Stephen F. Austin State University Chamber Orchestra, describes
the ensemble's season opening concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.
5, in Cole Concert Hall.
The program includes ÒGavotteÓ from Sergei ProkofievÕs ÒSymphony No.1,Ó two pieces
by Frederick Delius and two pieces by Edvard Grieg.
Evgeni Raychev, adjunct faculty, will be the featured cellist on Peter Tchaikovsky's "Pezzo
Capriccioso."
The Chamber Orchestra performs one or two concerts per semester and accompanies
the SFA combined choirs in each end-of-the-semester Masterworks concert.
The concert is a joint presentation of the SFA College of Fine Arts and the Department
of Music.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students.
