SFA Mast Arboretum Seeks Enthusiastic Volunteers

Area residents have the opportunity to spend time with great people and gorgeous plants as Garden Guides at the Stephen F. Austin State University Mast Arboretum.

Fall 2004 Garden Guide training will be 9:30 a.m. – noon Sept. 20-22 in the Agriculture Building Room 118.

This course prepares volunteers to give guided tours of the arboretum to area school children. Garden Guides introduce small groups of students to the arboretum through hands-on activities.

According to Elyse Rodewald, arboretum education coordinator, advanced horticulture knowledge is not necessary, but a love and appreciation for energetic, curious children is.
