Fire department records donated to library

A Nacogdoches resident has donated the Nacogdoches Fire Department's minute books from 1907 through 1973 to the East Texas Research Center at Stephen F. Austin State University. Effie Pyrtle Teutsch recently added the items to a collection of photographs that she and her husband, Delbert, had previously donated. Delbert Teutsch served in the fire department from 1934 through 1975, including many years as chief. Rachel B. Galan, research center director, said the books include the names of early volunteer firemen and are an important addition to the collection.
