Orchestra of the Pines to present concert

Jeff Jacobsen, director of orchestral studies at Stephen F. Austin State University, directs the Orchestra of the Pines in a recent concert. The orchestra will present "Variation Celebration" at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, in W.M. Turner Auditorium. The concert will feature pianist Andrew Parr, SFA professor of music, playing Sergei Prokofiev's "Piano Concerto No. 3." The orchestra will also perform two pieces by Johannes Brahms: "Variations on a Theme of Haydn" and "Symphony No. 1." Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $5 for students.
