Madrigal Dinner deadline approaching


NACOGDCOCHES, TEXAS - Patrons who wish to attend the Stephen F. Austin State University Madrigal Dinner on Friday, Dec. 2, or Saturday, Dec. 3, should purchase their tickets by Monday, Nov. 28.

The dinner will be presented by the SFA Madrigal Singers and A Cappella Choir at 6:30 p.m. both evenings in the University Center. Gathering time is 6:30 p.m. in the Spirit Lounge, and at 6:45, attendees will be escorted to the Grand Ballroom.

The evening includes a dinner of Cornish game hen, a variety of vegetables and breads, a flaming Christmas pudding and wassail for toasting. Choir members, dressed in Elizabethan period costumes will provide musical entertainment. The Lord of Rule and Lord of Misrule will present the Jester's Test.

Tickets range from $30 to $100, depending on seating preference, and may be purchased by calling the SFA Box Office at (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS.

The Madrigal Dinner is a joint presentation of the SFA College of Fine Arts and the School of Music. It is sponsored in part by BancorpSouth. All proceeds will benefit the A Cappella Choir European tour in May.

The SFA Madrigal Singers will don Elizabethan style clothing as they provide musical and dramatic entertainment during the Madrigal Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, in the University Center Grand Ballroom. The deadline for purchasing tickets is Monday, Nov. 28.
