Rosa Parks tribute planned at SFA


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS Ð The Stephen F. Austin State University Multicultural Center will host a tribute to Rosa Parks at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in Kennedy Auditorium.

SFA faculty members Juan Carlos and Jeana Paul Urena will perform, as will the Soul to Soul gospel choir. Original songs and poetry will be performed, including a song from a recently released compact disc by The Channel, a gospel rap group of SFA students.

The Rev. Kyle Childress of Austin Heights Baptist Church will speak at the ceremony, according to Peggy Greer, director of the Multicultural Center, and praise dancers from Iron Wheel Baptist Church and Live Oak Baptist Church will perform.
