SFA students to sell wheel thrown pottery

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Earth, Wheel and Fire, a new organization founded by undergraduate ceramic students at Stephen F. Austin State University, will be selling wheel-thrown pottery during the Nine Flags Festival on Saturday, Dec. 4.

The organization will be set up in front of The Art Center, 329 E. Main. All pieces will be functional and reasonably priced, said Anita Powell, SFA assistant professor of art and the group's faculty advisor.

Powell added that all cups sold will be filled with a free hot drink, either coffee or hot chocolate.

All proceeds will be used to fund the students' trip to the National Conference on Education in the Ceramic Arts in Baltimore, Md., in March 2005 or other special events such as visiting artists workshops.
