Modern philosopher to present lecture at SFA
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Not all great philosophers are dead.
Believe it or not, some are alive and well, and
they are working on issues relevant to 21st-century life.
One such philosopher, Dr. John Lachs, will present a lecture on tolerating
the different, titled ÒLeaving Others Alone,Ó at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov.
11, in Liberal Arts North Room 102 at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Lachs is a centennial professor of philosophy at Vanderbilt University.
He has served as a consultant and lecturer to many universities and
organizations around the world on issues of human nature. In addition
to writing more than 160 books and articles, Lachs has made numerous
television and radio appearances.
The lecture is free and open to the public. A question and answer
