SFA Business Students Inducted in Honor Society
Almost 50 Stephen F. Austin State University students were inducted
into Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honor society that encourages and
honors academic achievement and personal excellence in the study and
practice of business.
While more than 300,000 students receive bachelor's or master's degrees
in business each year, only about 15,000 are elected to lifetime membership
in Beta Gamma Sigma in recognition of their academic achievements, according
to Sharron Graves, SFA assistant professor of accounting.
Students who rank in the top 7 percent of the junior class, top 10 percent
of the senior class, and top 20 percent of the master's program at schools
accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business
- International are eligible for membership.
Nacogdoches county inductees included Roy Francis, finance junior; Elizabeth
Harvey, accounting junior; Ennis McCune, accounting junior; Amanda Reneau,
accounting junior; John Westmoreland, management junior; Tracy Crumpton,
general business senior; Marcos deSouza, international business senior;
Michael Fleet, accounting senior; Zachary Holmes, accounting senior;
David W. Parrish, accounting senior; and Greg James, Master of Business
Administration graduate student.
Other juniors inducted were Kimberly Adams, Longview; Melissa Bass,
Arlington; Carla Brown, Galveston; Matthew Dokupil, Temple; Salina Michele
Morrow, Jefferson; Gary Norris, Mesquite; Bonnie Revelt, Missouri City;
Charissa Vasquez, Lufkin; Brian Warwick, Houston; and Luke Wilbanks,
Diboll.
