CUTLINE --

Members of the Delta Zeta sorority at Stephen F. Austin State University have pledged to provide furnishings for a lab for the hearing impaired in the Human Services and Telecommunications Building currently under construction at SFA. The group has hosted its first fundraiser for the project. Delta Zeta is a national sorority that encourages philanthropic activities, especially activities that benefit hearing-impaired individuals. The women of the local Zeta Psi chapter of Delta Zeta frequently perform volunteer work in the community, including weekly visits to a nursing care facility and assisting with the recent Space Shuttle Columbia Memorial Service at SFA. Delta Zeta was named SFA’s “Sorority of the Year” for 2002-2003. Pictured are, from left, Laura Morello, senior speech pathology major from The Woodlands; Ashley Hulsey, Delta Zeta president and senior journalism major from Beaumont; and Robin Doranski, senior speech pathology major from Plano.
