Lecture About Love Held at SFA
Stephen F. Austin State University will host “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” at 5 p.m. Feb. 24 in Room 102 of the Vera Dugas Liberal Arts North Building. Dr. Robert C. Solomon will be the guest lecturer for the event. Solomon is a Quincy Lee Centennial Professor of Business and Philosophy and Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. He has been the author or editor of more than 40 books in philosophy, psychology, education and business. He has taught at institutions including Princeton, Harvard, The University of Pennsylvania, and The University of Auckland, New Zealand. “Dr. Solomon is a world authority on the philosophy and intellectual history of love and sex,” said Charles Padrón, assistant professor of English and philosophy. “In his books, other writings and lectures, he highlights the centrality and power of the emotion of what we call love, and the bodily expressions which we call the sexual, in the lives of human beings.” For more information, call (936) 468-2101.
