Debris found in the commuter parking lot on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus was guarded by the University Police Department until recovery officials arrived to remove it. The item, possibly from the Space Shuttle Columbia, was guarded from Saturday morning until Monday afternoon by police officers and SFA students. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a community-wide memorial service hosted by the university at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in William R. Johnson Coliseum.

SFA TO HOST MEMORIAL SERVICE

 

“Remember Columbia,” a memorial service to honor the crew members of STS-107 and volunteers who have assisted in the clean-up efforts, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, in William R. Johnson Coliseum. The service is sponsored by Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches County and the city of Nacogdoches.

         The public is invited to attend.
