SFA Music Preparatory Division recitals scheduled
On Monday, May 2, harp students of Alison Read and flute students of Michelle Sellers will perform at 6 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall. In the same hall, violin students of Dr. Jennifer Dalmas and Cordell Taylor and cello students of Dr. Evgeni Raychev will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3. Piano students will perform in one of four recitals. Performing in the Music Recital Hall will be students of Jessica Craig, Rene Freeman, Christine Silver, Erin Stephens and Molly Weaver at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, and students of Dr. Ping-Ting Lan, Kae Hosoda-Ayer and James Faucett at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7. On Sunday, May 8, students of Mary Cooper will present their recital at 2 p.m. in Cole Concert Hall, and Linda Parr's students will perform in the same hall at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17. Voice students of Dr. Deborah Dalton, Nita Hudson, Kimberly LaGraff and Nathan de Paz will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, May 9, the Music Recital Hall. Herb Midgley's classical guitar students will present their recital at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in the Music Recital Hall. At 7 p.m. on the same evening, the Piney Woods Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Evgeni Raychev, will give a spring concert in Cole Concert Hall. Suzuki violin students of Brenda Josephsen will perform at one of two recitals in the Music Recital Hall on Saturday, May 14. The first will be at 1 p.m. and the second at 3 p.m. Having served East Texas for almost 25 years, the Music Preparatory Division is committed to providing excellent musical training on any level of proficiency, said Pat Barnett, division director.
