Registration to open for more than 1,600 summer classes at SFA

Current Stephen F. Austin State University students who want to get a leg up on fall or those who attend other colleges or universities can choose from 1,629 summer classes when SFA registration begins April 26.

College seniors and graduate students may register April 26 and 27. Juniors register April 28 and 29, and sophomores register April 30-May 3. Registration is open to all students beginning May 4.

Students who attend colleges or universities elsewhere may enroll at SFA during the summer under a special category known as “transient,” according to Monique Cossich, executive director of enrollment management.

“This is an attractive option to earn additional credit for area residents who attend school elsewhere and who will be home this summer,” she said. “Summer school also offers an opportunity for community college students who are considering transferring to SFA or new high school graduates who will attend SFA in the fall to test the university waters.”

SFA has scheduled 865 classes during the first summer term, which begins June 2. Another 764 classes are planned for the second summer term, to begin July 14.

Registration for fall also begins April 26. For a list of courses and times, see “Schedule of Classes” at www.sfasu.edu/student.html. Students with registration questions may call the help line at (936) 468-1370 or e-mail registrar@sfasu.edu.

For questions about admission to the university or about qualifying as a “transient” student, contact the Office of Admissions, (936) 468-2504. All students must have complete files in the Admissions Office before they can register.
