Registration open for April Creative Saturday

Creative Saturday at the Art Center will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at The Art Center, 329 E. Main St. The interactive workshop is for families with children ages 5 to 12.

            Children and their parents will examine the range of work included in “Texas National 2004,” learning about styles, content and media. They will also create a three-dimensional object from unusual materials based on the content of a particular work.

            The participants’ creations will be displayed in The Art Center’s rear gallery for the duration of the exhibition.

            Early registration is encouraged because space is limited. The fee is $20 for a parent and child and $25 for a parent and two children. Parents must accompany their children.

            The workshop is presented by the Education and Community Outreach Committee of the advisory board of the SFA Friends of the Visual Arts.
