Position Announcement

POSITION: Broadcast Technical Support Specialist

STARTING DATE: August 1, 2002

JOB DESCRIPTION: Work involves responsibility for equipment maintenance, equipment testing and installation of new equipment. Work also involves writing descriptions and specifications for equipment and interacting effectively in student lab environments. The position reports directly to the faculty supervisors of KSAU radio and SFA-TV2. This is a security sensitive position.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS OR SPECIAL SKILLS: The individual must possess some combination of skills and abilities to be able to explain and perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to communicate effectively and interact with students in instances of training and supervision. Ability to coordinate effectively on a regular and ongoing basis with RTV faculty supervisors to determine the specific needs of instructors within the department. Ability to promptly communicate findings concerning reported equipment problems to faculty supervisor in both written and verbal communication. Ability to maintain production equipment in a radio station, television station and cable television origination system. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required, preference will be given to those who possess one or more of the following: Master's degree or equivalent; Technical training or certifications in broadcast equipment maintenance; Society of Broadcast Engineer's certification; Certification or training in computer based equipment. Preference will be given to those with maintenance and production experience in a radio station, television station and/or cable television origination system.

SALARY: $37,000.00 - $40,000.00 Depending on qualifications and experience.
