Thirteen holidays are allowed by the State for 2011-2012. The following schedule allows SFA to be closed for Labor Day, 2 days at Thanksgiving, 5 working days at Christmas, 5 working days at Spring Break, Memorial Day, and Independence Day, which totals fifteen days. Employees are required to take one day of vacation or compensatory time on December 30 and one day on March 16.


The following are the holidays to be observed by SFA during the FY 2012:

September 5 Labor Day
November 24 - 25 Thanksgiving

December 26- 30

Christmas Holidays (December 30 vacation or comp day)

March 12 - 16      

Spring Break (March 16 vacation or comp day)

May 28 Memorial Day
July 4 Independence Day

  

* Employees may observe Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Cesar Chavez Day and/or Good Friday, in lieu of any one or more of the holidays on the University schedule. Employees wishing to substitute holidays should make arrangements with their supervisor for making up lost time.
