Position:

Associate Director of Baker Pattillo Student Center

Starting Date:

Negotiable.

Job Description:

Responsible for providing guidance and support to the Director and staff in program development, staff development, activity reporting, financial oversight, and contract management.  Supervises building operations, technical support, ticket office management, graphic shop retail operations, and student programming.  Reports to the Director of Student Services/Director of Student Center.  This is a security sensitive position.

Professional Requirements or
Special Skills:

Bachelor's degree in business, behavioral science, management or related field is required.  Master's degree in Student Personnel Services or Public Administration is highly preferred.  At least five years work experience in a student programming and/or student activity environment.  Must have a least three years of supervisory experience.  Two years at the assistant director level preferred.  Must have experience with budgeting/revenue generation and event planning.  Knowledge of, or ability to learn, University and departmental policies and procedures.  Ability to communicate effectively, in both oral and written form.  Must possess the flexibility and tact needed to work at an effective level with faculty, staff, students and their families, and general public.  Ability to complete tasks efficiently and independently in a timely manner.  Ability to perform multiple duties in stressful and fast paced conditions.  Ability to build and maintain a strong team environment.  Ability to compose and deliver presentations and speeches.  Must be customer service oriented and possess the needed skills in order to resolve customer complaints.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.  Knowledge of leases and/or contracts for activities, services or products.
