Job Description:
|
Providing assistance to hearing impaired persons by sign language
primarily in the classroom environment but occasions to sign at
other events may arise; work is performed independently under
the supervision of Disability Services.
|
Professional Requirements or
Special Skills:
|
Graduation
from high school or equivalent required; some college course work
preferred; Interpreter Certification preferred; if not certified,
proof of completion of an educational interpreter course such as
SPH 478 is required; experience is required; evaluation of skills
by staff interpreter will be completed. Must be able to coordinate
schedule with the personal and academic schedule of the disabled
student for whom the services will be provided; ability to establish
effective working relations with disabled students; dependability
and punctuality a MUST, as are patience and courteousness; must
be able to maintain confidentiality. |
Salary:
