ENLARGING THE POOL OF CANDIDATES

Advertising to Enhance Diversity

Advertising in appropriate publications and contacting relevant organizations will help to enlarge the pool of candidates and also convey the commitment of the department and our university to recruit women and minorities. To enlarge the pool of candidates, a search committee should advertise in diverse publications and contact a variety of professional organizations. Most of the following publications and organizations advertise faculty and administrative positions for women and minorities. Additionally, advertising in specific discipline journals and organizations is helpful as they may offer electronic list serves at little or no charge.
