Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program
The REU Program supports active research participation by undergraduate students in any of the areas of resarch funded by the National Science Foundation. REU projects involve students in meaningful ways and include ongoing research programs and research projects specifcally designed for the REU program.
National Institute of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP)
NIH offers competitive scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are commited to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related resesarch. Scholarships include ten weeks as a paid summer intern followed by one year of full-time employment following graduation.
Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research
Undergraduate and graduate students are available for research grants of up to $1,000 to support investigation in any field of science and enginnering, including the social sciences. March 15 and October 15 are the annual deadlines.
Mayo Clinic Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship
Each year, 90-100 undergraduate students from around the United States come to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., to work beside both young and established scientists on a broad range of biomedical research questions. A limited number of fellowships are also available at the Mayo Clinic campuses in Jacksonville, Florida and Scottsdale, Arizona.
