Pivot is Live. Find Funding Now!
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is pleased to offer Pivot, a valuable search tool from Community of Science (COS) for locating external funding opportunities and collaborators. Pivot combines the most comprehensive, editorially maintained database of current funding opportunities worth an estimated $33 billionwith a unique database of 3 million scholar profiles. SFA faculty and interested staff are encouraged to register for an account where Pivot's proprietary algorithm matches your customized profile to funding opportunities and potential collaborators. Get started with Pivot today in three simple steps!
Step 1: Create Your Account.
Go to http://pivot.cos.com. Click "Sign up" in the upper right of the screen; fill in the open fields and click "Create my account". You will receive a confirmation e-mail to the address you supplied containing a verification URL. Click on the URL to get full access to Pivot. Please note that the e-mail address must be your SFA address. This e-mail address will also serve as your username when logging into Pivot.
Step 2: Claim and Update Your Profile.
Most SFA faculty have existing scholar profiles in Pivot, and you will want to connect that profile to your account, or "claim" your profile. Claiming your profile allows the Pivot Advisor to match and recommend funding opportunities and potential collaborators specifically to suit your interests.
Wondering how your profile was created? Pivot editors construct your profile by harvesting information from SFA websites including departmental and personal webpages. Profiles include contact information, key biographical information, CV, research interests, selected publications, etc.
The more detailed and up-to-date your information on the departmental website, the more accurate your profile will be. Faculty who are not listed on their departmental website will most likely not have a profile; however requesting Pivot to create your profile is simple.
You are encouraged to review and request updates to your profile to enhance the quality of matches made by the Pivot Advisor. Updates you submit are reviewed by Pivot editors and take approximately two weeks to be viewable on your profile. Learn how to claim, update, and create your profile.
Step 3: Explore All That Pivot Has to Offer!
Once logged in, you can search for funding, sponsors or scholars, save search queries, share opportunities with others and more! We recommend the Pivot Quick Start Guide for simple step-by-step instruction on basic Pivot navigation.
