Research Development Program (RDP)
A new opportunity to increase SFA's research capacity across departments and colleges!
Overview
The Research Development Program, created through HB 3526, (78th Regular Texas Legislative session), provides funding to promote increased research capacity at Texas academic teaching institutions. This fund differs from Faculty Research Grants and is used for new, emerging, and innovative research and multidisciplinary collaboration with individuals or entities that increase the university’s ability to obtain outside funding.
Definition of Research - From state rules for the Research Development Fund
How is the RDP different from SFA Faculty Research Grants?
A Research Development proposal must address the purpose of the Research Development Fund (i.e., to increase the research capacity of the University) and therefore proposals which would benefit or address only the research interests of a single individual will not be considered.
How do I apply?
New applications are not being considered at this time. Future competitions will be announced to the University community.
Please submit questions to brownch@sfasu.edu (or to Box 13024).

* All RDP awards are contingent on appropriation of funds by the Texas Legislature
