About Dr. Jayalath:

Dr. Kalanka Jayalath’s primary research interests are Spatial Statistics and Experimental Design. He completed his Ph.D. dissertation on “Spatial Point Processes in Pre-Historic House Structures”.

Dr. Jayalath is originally from Sri Lanka. Soon after graduating from University of Peradeniya he worked as a mathematics lecturer at the same university. In year 2007, he started his master degree in Statistics and realized the beauty of the subject and continued his study to get a PhD degree at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. During this period he has done two summer internships, one at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and another at Frito-Lay R&D, North America. Outside ‘Stat’, he likes to spend some time with his family and to play Cricket.
