University
Interscholastic League (UIL)
In
April 2008, the College of Liberal and Applied Arts is host
for the UIL Regional Meet, which welcomes over 1200 1-A high
school students to compete in academic and athletic events,
as well as the one-act play contest.
Created
by the Univesity of Texas in 1909, the University
Interscholastic League (UIL) is the largest organization
of its kind in the world. Through healthy competition and under
rules of good sportsmanship, the meet provides students with
a character-building environment for citizenship, with the support
of school executives, teachers, and coaches.
As
contest directors and locations for this year's events are confirmed,
the complete schedule of the Academic, Athletic and One-Act
Play contests for the spring meet will be posted here.
