Supplemental Travel Funds
Tenured and Tenured-Track Faculty
Fall 2007-Summer 2008

The College of Liberal & Applied Arts is providing supplemental travel funds to support tenured and tenured-track faculty who are presenting a research paper at a professional conference. Funds also will be available to faculty for travel with regard to other developmental purposes. This money is in addition to the annual allotment of $800 for each tenured and tenured-track faculty member. The supplemental support is limited to $1,000 during the fiscal year for any one faculty member. Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, priority will be given to applicants in the following order: first trip and presenting, second trip and presenting, and third trip and presenting together with other developmental-related requests.

applying for supplemental funds must complete the attached form and obtain the signature of their departmental chair. The chair’s signature verifies that the faculty member will use these funds to help defray the costs of the professional travel, that the faculty member is attending a conference or meeting program, that the faculty member meets the criteria, and that the faculty member has used all funds for travel available from external grants and contracts. Travel allotments can only be used in the fiscal year in which the travel will occur. Funding may be limited due to budget constraints and depending on the availability of funds.

Depending on the availability of funds, applications for this fiscal year will be accepted at any time prior to May 1, 2008. The College Council is responsible for reviewing the proposals and allocating the funds based on the conditions outlined above.

Copies of travel statements must be forwarded to the Dean’s Office within two weeks of return to campus.
