About
the BAAS ! |
| The
Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree is offered
for students who have vocational and career credit from
accredited community colleges, institutes, service schools,
or equivalent institutions. Often the BAAS degree is referred
to as an “inverted” degree because the student
begins the baccalaureate program with occupational or
technical courses that become the major. The “academic
foundations” courses or general education component
of the degree is then added to complement the major as
the student completes the degree.
Additionally, the BAAS Degree allows the student to transfer
courses from occupational and technical fields that are
not transferable into conventional baccalaureate degrees.
Often the student has lower level general education courses
that can be applied to the academic foundations component
of the degree. |
