Application Instructions for International and Non-English
Speaking Students
Once you have identified a program
to which you want to apply and ensured you meet the admission
requirements, follow these simple steps.

- Application
Complete the International
Student Application (Texas Common Application). This application
may be submitted electronically.
The Department of Biotechnology is no longer accepting applications for the spring 2007 semester.
- Credential Evaluation
You must provide documentation of professional credential evaluation.
This evaluation is to verify your completion of a program of study
equivalent to a four-year American bachelor's degree from a post-secondary
institution which is recognized or accredited in the country where
the institution is located. You must use the Foreign
Credentials Service of America or World
Education Service to have your credentials evaluated. Application
forms and additional information can be found at their Web sites.
You are responsible for the cost of this evaluation.
- Application Fee
A non-refundable $50 application fee is required for all programs,
unless you are part of a University-sponsored exchange program.
Please make your check out to SFA.
- Transcripts
Official transcripts, certificates, and/or mark sheets of all
academic records and examination results for all post-secondary
or university-level work attempted must be submitted at least
30 days prior to entering.
- Test Scores
- Official GRE scores (GMAT scores for business majors) must
be submitted to the Graduate School.
- Official TOEFL scores must be submitted to the Graduate School.
- Minimum TOEFL requirements are:
- 213 on the computer-based test
- 550 on the paper-based test
- 80 on the Internet-based test
- Additional Documents
- Certificate of completion of post-secondary level education
equivalent to four years of American university schooling
- Three letters of reference from former professors or individuals
who are familiar with your academic work
- A statement of finances or acceptance of a graduate assistantship
is required before an I-20 can be issued but is not required
for admission
- Contact your major department
to see if additional documentation is required for your program.
