Test Scores
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
Some programs require
acceptable Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores. To determine which programs require a GRE, see Programs and Degrees. SFA does
not have a minimum GRE score requirement for admission, but
generally, acceptable scores are approximately 450 to 500 on
each of the verbal and quantitative sections of the test.
Many departments look closely at the GRE results in making their
admissions decisions.
If you will be taking graduate courses for the purpose of qualifying
for a graduate degree program, certification, professional development,
or personal enrichment (Post-Baccalaureate admission), the GRE
is not required.
