Overview
The purpose of the graduate program is to improve the competency
of physical education and health educators in elementary and secondary
schools and to provide an educational background for the entry-level
certified athletic trainer. It is also the conscious intent of
the department to serve as a center for conducting research and
for interpreting new professional developments in health science
and kinesiology (physical education), and athletic training. The
graduate program in physical education is devoted to broadening
the scope and depth of the students' knowledge and understanding
of the profession and the discipline.
