The Graduate Council met at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 in the Hall of Honor at the Alumni Center. Dr. Mueller made a motion to accept the minutes of the September 27, 2001 meeting as amended. Dr. Scharff seconded the motion. The motion passed.

I. Old Business

A. Faculty Senate Resolution

Discussion took place regarding a response to the resolution presented by the Faculty Senate of SFASU:

At the particular time the Graduate Council chooses not to publish a specific range of GRE scores to qualify students for clear admission.

Dr. Mueller made a motion for the response to the Faculty Senate Resolution. Mr. Beason seconded the motion. The motion passed.

B. Graduate Bulletin

Discussion took place regarding additional information on the GRE in the Graduate Bulletin. The following statement is to be added to the Graduate Bulletin on page 21 at the end of the penultimate paragraph on Admissions:

The application process will be conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Admission and Scholarship Policies for Graduate and Professional Programs, which was adopted by the 7th Session of the Texas Legislature, and which amends Chapter 51 of the Texas Education Code.

Dr. Bradfield made a motion to approve additional statement for the Graduate Bulletin. Mr. Beason seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Dr. Mueller made a motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded my Mr. Beason.

The meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
