Dr. Butterworth-McDermott’s academic work has been published in American Transcendental Quarterly, The Henry James Review, and the book, Twice-Told Children's Tales from Routledge Press. Select poems have been nominated for a Rhysling Award (published in the 2005 anthology by Prime Books) and have received Honorable Mentions in The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror (17th and 18th Annual Editions). Her poems and short stories have appeared in Bellowing Ark, Beloit Fiction Journal, Cabinet des Feés, California Quarterly, The Magazine of Speculative Poetry, North Atlantic Review, Portland Review, and Tales of the Unanticipated.
She is the editor-in-chief of Stephen F. Austin State University’s national literary magazine, REAL: Regarding Arts and Letters.
