Prerequisite: 6 hours of freshman composition.  This course should be taken during the sophomore year and before 300 and 400-level literature courses. 

II. Language and Pedagogy (6 hours)

Prerequisite: 9 hours of ENG

                  3 hrs – ENG 444: Teaching English in Secondary School
Prerequisites: 27 hours of ENG courses; SED 370, 371, 372; Adviser permission required for registration. 

III. Literature Surveys (9 hours)

Minor
Requirements and hours may vary according to department; see the Bulletin.  Hours for the minor may overlap with the General Studies Core requirements.  (18-23 hours.)

 

Hour Requirements 
A minimum of 130 semester hours with at least 42 semester hours of work at SFASU; must include 42 or more semester hours at the advanced level (300 and 400 level courses); at least 36 of these 42 advanced hours must be taken at SFASU; at least 12 advanced hours in the major must be taken at SFASU. 

Grade Requirements
The Teacher Education Program at SFA requires a 2.5 cumulative gpa, a 2.5 gpa in the teaching field, and a grade of “C” or better for each course in the teaching field, including ENG 131 and 132.
