Programs & Information

A minimum of 11 additional hours of biology coursework are required to fulfill the requirements of 36 hours for a major in biology.

Biology courses may be selected so as to concentrate general biology, botany, zoology, invertebrate zoology, microbiology, wildlife science, or aquatic biology. A concentration should be selected by all biology majors and appears on your transcript following your major (i.e., BS in biology with a concentration in ____________).

The list of "Recommended Courses" within each concentration is not "etched in stone". Other courses may be substituted with the approval of one's advisor.

Since the Biological sciences are becoming more broad and specialized, we have prepared detailed "areas of study" to better assist students in choosing a concentration and in preparing the most effective and effecient degree plan.
