Each semester, several instructors and researchers require the assistance
of undergraduate students. These students are either employed as laboratory
assistant, aiding in the instruction of students in lab-based courses
or they are trained in an aspect of biological research, as required
by the faculty member. This experience is invaluable both to the faculty
member as well as the student. Few undergraduate students graduate
with practical hands-on experience that can be a deciding factor for
future employers.
