Two of the 5 characteristics of all living things on this planet are: 1. All living things consist of 1 or more CELLS; and 2. All living things contain DNA. Based on the essential nature of cells and DNA to life itself, we see that the cell and molecular biology instruction is foundational knowledge upon which to build an appreciation of the life sciences.

Whether your career plans are to work in the areas of Cell biology, or spealized areas of immunology, pathology, virology or molecular biology, the Biology Department at Stephen F. Austin State University has the diversity of coursework to train you. Our department also has highly skilled and trained faculty who will guide you through your coursework and provide you with the hands-on training employers are searching for.
