Cell & Molecular Biology


Course Description: This course is a basic survey of medically important bacteria. This course includes mechanisms of pathogenesis, collection and transport of specimens, initial specimen processing, and identification of isolates by classical, automated, and molecular techniques, and is taught spring of odd numbered years. Prerequisite is BIO 309 (Microbiology).

Catalog Description:. 3 semester hours, 2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab per week. The morphological, cultural and physiological properties of the important pathogenic organisms and their relation to man. Prerequisite: BIO 309. Lab fee $10.
