Course Description: A focus on genetics as it applies to humans. Beginning with an introduction of Mendel’s laws, we progress through various modes of inheritance while learning to make probability predictions. Mechanisms of human disease, both genetic and chromosomal, are discussed. Genetic engineering and it’s implications are discussed as well. Catalog Description: 3 semester
hours, 2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab per week. The nature of viruses
and the mechanisms of viral infection of plants, animals,
and bacteria. Prerequisite: BIO 309. Lab fee $10.
