Gregory "Scott" Allen, SFA '89 Services for Gregory "Scott" Allen, 48, of Longview were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1700 Blueridge Parkway, Longview, Texas, with Bishop Chad Newman officiating. Burial was in Chireno Lower Cemetery in Chireno, Texas. Mr. Allen was born January 5, 1962, in Belleville, Illinois, and died August 26, 2010, in Longview. He served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the San Jose, California Mission. He married Michele Lee Muse December 23, 1986, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology in 1989. Scott worked as a Licensed Athletic Trainer for more than 20 years. He also served as Bishop of the Nacogdoches Congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Survivors include his wife, Michele Allen; son, Nathaniel Scott Allen; parents, James K. Allen Sr. and Janet Joy Allen; sister, Mary Leach and husband, Bob; brothers, James K. Allen Jr. and David Edward Allen and wife, Kambra; parents-in-law, R. Perry and Linda Muse; and siblings-in-law, Craig and Anna Lisa Fowler, Mike and Shelly Knepp, Raymond and Pam Muse and Cody and Angela Muse; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association Scholarship Fund or to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
