Mission
The
Department of Criminal Justice is one of the academic departments of the
College of Liberal and Applied Arts. We are dedicated to assisting the accomplishment of the missions
of the College and University. This
contribution is to first, develop in
each of its students the knowledge, skill and value system necessary for the
competent criminal justice practitioner and potential agency administrator.
Secondly,
to provide students with a foundation in criminal justice knowledge, skill and
value systems, coupled with a broad based liberal arts education that would
prepare them to pursue graduate education in criminal justice or another field.
Finally, the department faculty has sought to provide service to the community through research, continuing education, and consultative activities.
