Professional Survey - We Need Your Help!

NBS appreciates all of its professional members and needs their input. We need to know what you think about what NBS services are needed to better serve our professional members. Good, bad, or ugly, we would like your input so we can plan our future services. That's right, your input on this survey is going to help determine what services NBS may be able to offer to professionals in the future -- based upon available resources. So please, be honest and let us know how we can best help you. If we did not ask about something you wish to comment about, feel free to let us know at the end of the survey.

Thanks,

Dr. Al Greule,
NBS VP Professional Services

Also, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at agreule@sfasu.edu should you have any questions about the survey.

PLEASE NOTE: Submission of this online survey is anonymous. No personally identifiable data is collected.

Part 2: Questions concerning the NBS Professional Production Competition

Currently, NBS offers a professional production competition. Would you like to see that production competition changed to (check all that apply):

Eliminate the audio category.
Add a web site/design category.
Add an interactive video/media category.
Add a video category for presentation only (winners not ranked), separate from a competition category (where winners are ranked).
Award video overall without categories with a judge's recognition which meets a certain standard.
Award productions only by category, regardless of the number of entries. (This would mean a production with a higher score than a 1st place in another category may get a lower ranking just because of the number of entries in a category.)

Expand to a second session for an idea exchange and longer presentations of productions entered.
No changes, keep it the way it is.
Other. Please explain:

Nearly all entries come from college faculty and staff. Would you like to (select one):
Keep it confined to this group.
Expand it to all broadcast professionals and encourage those individuals to enter.
Start a separate competition for full-time practicing professionals.
Other. Please explain:

Have you submitted an entry in the NBS production competition for professionals at least once in the past five years?
If you answered no, please indicate why:

Part 3: Questions Concerning The NBS Professional Paper Sessions:

Include only referred (juried) papers.
Include only invited papers about teaching and campus media issues.
Include invited papers about any media related topic.
Allow only papers to be presented here that are not presented nor published elsewhere.
Not be changed, it's fine the way it is now with two paper categories (invited and juried).
