Annual Report for 2003 - 2004


    Activities since the 2003 St. Louis NBS convention included:

    • Complete update of Alumni and Professional section of the NBS web site to include:
    Professional paper and production entry rules and forms, member services survey & alumni contact information.

    • Forwarded contact information from alumni update web site to national office and replied to those who visited the site.

    • Wrote articles for Signals-on-line for all issues.

    • Posted information about internships and jobs on list serve.

    • Represented national organization at Region 4 convention in Oklahoma in November.

    • Rewrote Handbook for Chapter Alumni and Professional coordinators. Reviewed papers and reports dating back to 1981 in an effort to update this material which had not been updated in well over 10 years.

    • Proposed incentive program to increase professional paper submissions. Program a success with a 100 to 200 % increase in entries over the pat 2 years.

    • Coordinated professional paper and production competitions. Overall total entries by professionals is up by about 35 percent over last year. Sent personal e-mails to over 100 academic professionals publicizing the competitions.

    • Started Interactive/Web competition for professionals. Wrote rules for this.

    • Interceded when there were chapter and regional problems when I could, even though it was not the responsibility of my office.

    • Attended and participated in all national executive board meetings via telephone. This saved the organization almost $1000 in travel expense. Also participated in all conference calls.

    • Arraigned for a session for professionals at the convention.

    • Contributed to the NBS First Fund.

    • Completed all items on NBS accountability profile as issued from the National Office
