Note: Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME, NT and 2000
are no longer supported by Microsoft and as a result are no longer supported at SFA. Vista is the newest version of Windows from Microsoft. Released in early 2007, Vista is the most radical redesign of Windows since Windows 95. Vista now comes standard on all personal computers and is more than acceptable for students at SFA. However, the new OS does have issues with older software and hardware. There are also issues connecting a computer running Vista to the SFA wireless network (SFA-LAWN). Because of these issues, SFA strongly discourages students from upgrading systems currently running Windows XP to Windows Vista. Microsoft Windows Vista can be purchased at the SFA Barnes and Noble bookstore. Windows XP instructions use
the default Windows XP visual style for the included screen captures. |
